New Haven Fire Department Chief John A. Alston Jr.   

Chief Alston is an internationally recognized fire service educational speaker - a Keynote speaker at the FDIC "Fire Department Instructors Conference."   We keep in mind his philosophy ..."find the positive, don't fee the negative"..."the difference between dinosaurs and crocodiles is that one of them adapted to their environment and the other became extinct!"     Chief Alston served in several capacities in the Jersey City Fire Department, including Chief of Special Operations.  He is currently the Fire Chief for the City of New Haven.
